Here at Harbor-T Shelties we pride ourselves on, healthy, happy, well rounded Toy Shetland Sheepdogs or Shelties as they are often called.
We DNA test all of our Breeding stock as well as run all tests to ensure our shelties are as healthy as can be. We will not breed any dogs unless we ourselves want puppies, this means we will be keeping puppies from every litter we produce, If we are not looking for a new pup to add to our own home we do not breed.
We do not breed for color do not ask us for a particular color of dog. We breed for health and temperament first. We breed for quality dogs with excellent conformation, and health. We will not breed ever to produce a litter of pups we only breed to produce the next generation of exceptional dogs.
We are members of the Toy Sheltie Club of America
As well as running the North East Michigan Sheltie Rescue for the past 11 years. We believe if you are dedicated enough to a specific breed of dog to become involved in breeding you must therefore Rescue!!
We do not advocate the breeding of poor quality specimens nor do we use nor recommend using any dog for breeding that has not been health tested, in the case of the toy size shelties this does include heart and liver tests!! Many people will tell you a "toy" sheltie is just a way to charge big bucks for an undersized dog. Plus these dogs are sick, going to die, and besides all of this will not stay as little as the so called breeder claims.
Well feel free to come and see our dogs, they are as little as we claim. They are truely purebred shelties not the mised mutts people want them to be, They also excell in the health and temperament categories!!
A Toy Sheltie is not for everyone!! They are very tiny as puppies!! Also they require more attention as puppies than a standard size sheltie. But a Standard size sheltie is not for everyone either. We are not trying to "sell" you on toy shelties just sharing our dogs with everyone. So sit back relax and tour our site to see our dogs!! Plus lots or new information and updates on our website!!
